Milky Way Pre-School Playgroup in Longsight

Are you looking for an Ofsted approved pre-school playgroup in Longsight and the surrounding areas in Manchester?  For a high quality childcare for 2-4 year olds, please look no further than Milky Way Pre-School Playgroup to solve your childcare dilemma. Milky Way Pre-School Playgroup opened in the Sept 2012. It operates from a large room in Greater Manchester Bangladeshi Community Centre (GMBA) at Birch Lane serving the local communities predominantly Bangladeshi’s and other culturally pluralistic society.

The playgroup has 15 Full time places with four members of staff, including the Teacher/Manager, Mr Monsur A Khan (M Com, PGCE, CSS.pecu). All Key staffs are highly qualified and experienced.

The aim of the setting is to give children in our care the best possible start during their early years, providing a balance of activities and learning experiences, giving them a stimulating environment in which they can explore and develop individually in an enjoyable way.

We give opportunities for different experiences from visitors from outside the setting i.e. local services, parents with talents, or parents who just like to help with certain activities, which all have an impact on the children's learning.

We follow the Foundation Stage Curriculum for the Early Years and to ensure the quality care. we are working with the Manchester Quality Assurance Team.

Our Mission Statement

We believe that children learn best in a secure and happy environment, where they feel valued, trusted and confident in their own ability.

We also believe that children should be challenged with a range of learning experiences so that they develop to the maximum of their potential and enjoy learning to the full through the promotion of enthusiasm and curiosity.

Through first hand experiences, we aim to develop in our children a love of learning, pride in their work, respect for their surroundings and good relationships with others at home and at Preschool.

Our Visions Statement

  • Create a positive atmosphere where everyone feels happy, secure and valued; where encouragement, praise and approval lead to success.

  • Provide a commitment to the highest standards of teaching and learning improved by a continuing programme of staff development.

  • Provide a broad, balanced and inclusive curriculum, so that each child is able to achieve his or her full potential.

  • Work together with parents/carers and the wider school community, enabling us to provide the best education possible.

  • Encourage, self-confidence, self-discipline and independence.

  • Have an understanding and respect of our own and others beliefs and cultures.
